Oil Spill Clean Up

Oil residue from Huntington Beach, CA

In October, 2021, in Huntington Beach, CA, an oil spill significantly affected the City, with substantial ecological impacts occurring at the beach and at the Huntington Beach Wetlands. Huntington Beach Fire and Marine Safety personnel along with remediation crews were deployed to implement oil containment efforts.

Crews from PPMSiteServices were part of the cleanup efforts along the coast of Southern California. A 17-mile pipeline leaked 3,111 barrels which is approximately 127,000 gallons of crude oil in the ocean. It devastated some local wildlife.

The leak took place about 5 miles off the coast of Huntington Beach in Orange County.

Clean up efforts were successful and the beaches have reopened. Ongoing investigation and mitigation is still underway.
